The Master of Engineering Management (MEM) program at the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences, Nazarbayev University, marked a major milestone this year: ten graduating cohorts and more than 280 alumni since its launch. To celebrate this decade of academic excellence and professional growth, the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences hosted a special event on May 3, 2025.
Organized by Professor Mariza Tsakalerou, Director of the MEM Program, the celebration brought together alumni, students, faculty, university leadership, and industry partners to reflect on the program’s evolution and the growing impact of its graduates across sectors.
A featured panel, 10 Years of MEM, 10 Lessons moderated by faculty, brought together alumni speakers:
Nauryzbay Mussin, Nargiz Khairlybayeva, Yevgeniy Lukhmanov, Madina Baizhanova, Anastasia Reshodko, Yessenkhan Dildabek, and Saiyn Kurmankulov amond others. Each shared lessons learned and professional insights gained through the MEM experience.
Light-hearted games and group activities added a festive touch, reinforcing the strong community spirit that defines the program.
The success of the event was made possible through the generous support of the MEM community:
WABTEC sponsorship was secured thanks to the efforts of Aizhan Umerbayeva, Dauren Nurmaganbetov, Shyryn Mustafina, and Sayazhan Assainova.
Nursultan Kulnasharov (BiGroup) provided an important link to the professional world and ongoing alumni engagement.
This 10-year celebration served not only as a reflection on past accomplishments but also as a reaffirmation of the MEM program’s mission: to bridge engineering and management education and to prepare professionals for leadership roles in technology-driven industries.
