NU SEDS Students Presented Prototypes of Robots for Human Rehabilitation

On April 26th, Nazarbayev University's School of Engineering and Digital Sciences recently hosted a showcase where final-year Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) students presented innovative robotic systems designed for rehabilitation. Under the guidance of Associate Professor Prashant Jamwal, students collaborated across disciplines to develop various Rehabilitation Robots, including the Mechanism Design of Elbow Joint Rehabilitation Robot, Knee Rehabilitation Robot for Neurological Disorder Treatment, and Design and Modeling of Finger Rehabilitation Robot, among others.

The event featured interactive demonstrations, providing guests with firsthand experience of the robots' capabilities and offering valuable feedback. Representatives from key organizations such as the National Agency for Development of Innovations "QazInnovations," "Jas Ventures" LLP, and the National Center for Children's Rehabilitation attended, expressing interest in potential financial support. Negotiations for funding are currently underway.

Furthermore, students showcased their creative processes and highlighted the entrepreneurial potential of their projects. This initiative underscores the university's commitment to technology-driven healthcare solutions and presents promising opportunities for the future of rehabilitation robotics in Kazakhstan.
