Nazarbayev University (NU) and BI Group, a leading private construction company, have once again formalized their ongoing partnership by signing a new Memorandum of Cooperation. The agreement was signed by Dr. Waqar Ahmad, President of NU, and Askhat Omarov, Chairman of the Management Board BI Group Holding. The memorandum aims to strengthen collaboration between NU scientists and BI Group’s experts to address real-world challenges in construction. This partnership will focus on advancing building design and integrating innovative solutions into construction practices.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at NU’s School of Engineering and Digital Sciences already has a well-established partnership with BI Group. The parties agreed to jointly implement projects, develop building codes and regulations and work on analytical measurements, modeling, and testing in the construction sector. Their efforts include testing new materials and solutions on construction sites across various climatic zones. In addition, NU and BI Group will organize joint conferences, seminars and educational initiatives, including training, lectures, workshops and field studies. Both parties emphasize the importance of sharing knowledge and experience to advance civil engineering education and methodology.
