Dr. Elizabeth Arkhangelsky has been appointed as the new Dean of the School of Engineering and Digital Sciences at Nazarbayev University (NU SEDS), effective August 1, 2024. This appointment follows her role as Acting Dean, a position she has held since the resignation of founding Dean Professor Vassilios Tourassis.
Dr. Arkhangelsky, who holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, has been with Nazarbayev University since 2013. She began as an Assistant Professor, was later promoted to Associate Professor, and continues to hold a position as a Full Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. She has also served as the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs.
Her expertise in environmental engineering encompasses sustainable development goals, including global health improvement, clean water access, and the development of sustainable cities.
